Orbital Flight at Breck

 Breckenridge, Colo. Feb. 19, 2016 – Breckenridge Ski Resort welcomes the newest event to the Breck Spring Fever line-up – Orbital Flight presented by Red Bull.  The high-flying competition set to the Canadian electronic beats of Keys N Krates and under a projection of lights will leave spectators in awe!

Breckenridge’s own Bobby Brown and Eric Willett will lead the list of top skiers and snowboarders to compete in the evening freestyle competition on Saturday, March 19 at the bottom of Breck’s infamous Freeway Terrain Park on Peak 8. This complimentary event will combine big-air-style with innovative video mapping projected on the big-air jump itself. Music from Keys-N-Krates will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by an epic display of light projection, music and tricks from skiers and snowboarders.

The big-air style competition will add to the uniqueness and splendor of the biggest spring ski party in the Rocky Mountain region, Breck Spring Fever. The month-long festival begins Friday, March 18 with the GoPro Big Mountain Challenge on Breck’s famed Peak 6.

Breck Spring Fever 2016 Signature Events Include
March 18 – 20        Go Big Pro Mountain Challenge – Come watch the action at Peak 6 at 10 a.m. both days and see some of the best big mountain free riders in the country as they compete in this youth freestyle event and score points in the IFSA series.

March 19               Orbital Flight presented by Red Bull – Breckenridge Ski Resort will host this new high-energy event that is designed to entertain the senses. Keys-N-Krates, a top musical act will drop the beat as men skiers and snowboarders compete at Breck’s Freeway Terrain Park beginning at 6:30 p.m.

March 27               Sunrise On-Mountain Easter Service and Easter Egg Hunt on the Mountain – Experience one of the most beautiful settings for an Easter service at a special location. Load the Quicksilver lift on Peak 9 at 6 a.m. for this complimentary service and dress warmly. Afterward, head to Peak 8 and 9 for a lively Easter egg hunt.

April 1, 8, 15          Spring Fever Park Jam – Join the Breck Park Crew Friday afternoons during Spring Fever, where they’ll be running Spring Fever Park Jams in Freeway and Park Lane. Win GoPros, season passes and other prizes during jam-style contests from noon to 3 p.m.

April 2                    Mountain Dew Park Competition – Park Lance becomes center stage during this exhilarating competition at Park Lane on Peak 8. More details to come  soon.

April 3                    Spring Fever Breck Chili Cook-off –Sevens restaurant will host its annual chili cook-off at noon when top chefs from Breckenridge Ski Resort and Breck Hospitality face off against each other to see whose chili recipe is the best.

April 9                    Breckenridge Spring Fever Beer Festival – Sample beers from more than 35 breweries in downtown Breck on Ridge Street. Beginning at noon, this event features delicious food and free music.

April 13                  Breck Ascent Series Final Race – Don’t miss the final race of the Breck Ascent Series at 5:30 p.m. on Peak 7; an after party will follow! Cost: $22 same day registration/$20 pre-registration. Call (970) 453-1734 for registration and details.
