The NRO is classical music's preeminent intensive fellowship that equips young musicians for orchestral music careers while providing them the highest level of musical experience. The NRO performs two full orchestra concerts each week in Breckenridge’s beautiful Riverwalk Center between late June and mid-August. In addition, members of the NRO take part in smaller chamber concerts during the festival, and the full orchestra plays at several other locations in the state. NRO Alumni currently play in virtually every major and regional orchestra in the U. S. and in orchestras world-wide.

The Gold Prospectors of Colorado return to Breckenridge for their annual championship event. The GPOC is committed to educating the general public on gold prospecting and the science behind gold deposits and recovery. The Club co-sponsors learning activities with the Colorado Museum of Mining and Industry, conducts outings at Bureau of Land Management locations, and sponsors the annual Championship. Come see prospectors in action and learn about this colorful part of Colorado history.
Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks are back in Breckenridge for his first appearance since their fantastic 2007 show at the Riverwalk. The band is hard to categorize, but not hard to listen to or easily forgotten. Ranging from folk, bluegrass, jazz, swing, country and pop to gypsy music, Dan Hicks is a phenomenal performer and entertainer who will get anyone and everyone on their feet. Singer-songwriter, pianist, and acoustic and electric guitarist, Cohn is often described as one of the most personal, most introspective lyricists of his generation. Probably America's best-known Western Swing band, Asleep at the Wheel has won nine Grammys including 2001 for best Vocal Performance By A Duo or Group, for “Cherokee Maiden”. A highlight of Labor Day weekend! Nothing compares to 10,000 rubber ducks bobbing down the Blue River. Visitors can purchase ducks to race for a great selection of prizes while supporting the Summit Foundation, Summit County's leading charity.
The 35th Annual Gathering at the Great Divide Art Festival is nationally ranked in the top 200 of fine art shows in the United States. The tradition continues over Labor Day Weekend and will feature over 100 artists with a wide range of mediums including photography, wood, glass, jewelry and pottery just to name a few.
