TERRAIN CLASSIFICATION
Easiest 15%:
Breckenridge offers some of the best beginner's terrain
in the world. Skiers and riders will find many beginner
trails located off Chair 7 on Peak 8. This also includes
a section of the 3.5 mile Four O' Clock run, the longest
trail at Breckenridge. Also in this terrain skiers and
riders will find the Quicksilver Super 6 and A lifts on
Peak 9.
More Difficult 33%:
An intermediate's delight, Peak 7 is home to seven more
difficult runs, accessed by a six-passenger high speed
SuperChair. Arguably the local's favorite, Claimjumper
is located on Peak 8 in addition to Crescendo and
Northstar. Peak 9 offers two high-speed SuperChairs that
access more than ten intermediate trails for all your
skiing and riding needs!
Most Difficult 20%:
Duke's Run on Peak 8 offers a combination of both bumps
and groomed terrain. Take the T-Bar up to Pika,
Ptarmigan, White Crown and Forget-Me-Not for wide-open
bowls and stunning views. Opening December 2005 the
Imperial Lift will take you to places you never imagined
accessing without a hike! Peerless located on Peak 9 is
a great place to learn how to master the bumps,
especially on a powder day. A quick ride up the Falcon
SuperChair on Peak 10 carries riders and skiers to three
advanced intermediate groomers, steep mogul runs, and
the celebrated glades of The Burn.
Expert 32%:
Peak 7 offers vast steep terrain without the trees at a
45-degree pitch. The New Imperial Lift on Peak 8 will
excite the experienced skier and rider. One can enjoy
amazing alpine views from atop the Horseshoe Bowl or
Imperial Bowl at 12,998 feet. Once a hike, the Lake
Chutes and Windows are accessible by the New Imperial
Lift. Lake Chutes rides for a 55 degree pitch (extreme
terrain), between 10 and 80 feet of cornice, rocks to
jump and of course, fresh tracks. Peak 9 features world
class tree skiing. The South Side of Peak 10 hosts fat
bumps, hidden kickers and glades for the extreme
explorer.
