“Suited our needs PERFECTLY.”

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

The location of this condo is excellent for the price. It is ski in and you can walk (albeit uphill, about 10 minutes) or shuttle to Snowflake Lift. We had a car so cannot comment on access to town via foot or shuttle. We were able to park right in front of our room. The space was clean, well decorated and roomy, the fireplace a lovely addition. The shower in the main br was broken and repaired within hours after a phone call to the front desk. Staff was friendly and the dvd collection in the Office held great flicks. The hot tub was welcome after a long day on the slopes. We would definitely stay here again.

Fifteen teams of snow sculptors from ten different countries have already begun carving what they hope to be the winning piece in Breckenridge’s annual Snow Sculpture Championships. The teams began the sculpting process Tuesday at 11 a.m. and 65 hours later on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. the teams must be finished with their work. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., but curious visitors are encouraged to come and view the process and the final products anytime starting Jan. 24,

Breckenridge is expected to see snow accumulation in the neighborhood of 2 to 4 inches on Friday. Come Saturday, temps will range between 18 to 28 degrees and not a trace of that bone chilling wind we all love/expect. With last weekends snow firmly packed into corduroy and additional snow on the way, conditions are shaping up everyday. What are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and give us a call 1-888-840-4170

Pine Ridge is almost fully booked for this weekend, but we do have a few remaining units. Find our availability here (hit your refresh button for the most current results).

Relaxing Hatha Yoga in Breckenridge

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Living Breckenridge, there is a high level of athleticism displayed by its inhabitants.  The mountains afford opportunities to participate in myriad of activities like mountain biking, trail running, and white-water rafting in the summer; and skiing and snowboarding in the winter.   While it is healthy to be active and fit, the importance of proper relaxation cannot be overlooked.  Think of relaxation as the yin to the yang of activity.  Yoga teaches us that there are five points to a healthy lifestyle:  proper diet, proper excercise, proper breathing, positive thinking and meditation, and proper relaxation.

The hatha yoga classes taught by Breckenridge massage therapist and yoga instructor Erica Ragusa are designed to give us the proper levels of movement, breathing, and relaxation to contribute to our health and well-being.  The classes are one-hour long and start out in savasana, or corpse pose, to bring the participant into the present moment and leave behind the stresses of the day.  Then, there is instruction in pranayama, or breathing techniques to increase our vitality.  It is said that when we breathe deep, we live deeply; when we breathe shallow, we live shallow.  Deep breathing techniques are taught along with exercises to improve lung capacity.  Then, the part of the practice that is most associated with “yoga,” the asana practice, is started.  We move into a series of poses while keeping an awareness of our breath, trying to synchronize our movements with our breath.

The pace of the class is slow, giving us time to really feel the movements and deepen our stretches.  Participants have said that the class has allowed them the opportunity to really stretch, lengthen, and open their joints.  The class concludes with a guided relaxation to facilitate total calmness and comfort.  The savasana at the end is important, as it allows our bodies time to process the asanas and integrate them into our structure.  Erica teaches yoga Wednesdays at 5:45pm at Carter Park, Saturdays at 9:45pm at the Rec Center, and volunteers with the BOEC as a gentle yoga instructor and massage therapist for MS, ALS, and TBI groups.  Visit her Breckenridge Massage Therapy website for more information.

~Summit Express drops a recommendation for Pine Ridge~

Friday, October 7th, 2011

Fall is here folks! In most towns around the country when you think of fall, you think of changing colors and fallen leaves. Well, much of the same here in Breckenridge but we add snow in our fall season. That’s right, it snowed yesterday in Breckenridge and more in the forecast for this weekend. Our Summit Express Shuttle saw snow for the first time this season yesterday as well. Both A-Basin and Loveland ski resorts have started making snow. Breckenridge I’m sure will start making snow soon. One of Breckenridge’s ski in properties is Pine Ridge. If you’re looking for great specials and lodging deals please visit Pine Ridge condos, www.pineridge.com . Summit Express, Breckenridge’s premier airport shuttle.
