The first weekend in December begins Breckenridge’s annual transformation into a sparkling holiday scene. Participate in the Lighting of Breckenridge & Race of the Santas, where hundreds of jolly look-alikes race and watch as Santa uses his magic to light up the town for the season.

Snowman Building Competition

Who wants to build a snowman? Come showcase your sculpting skills and create characters out of snow. The competition will be judged by BreckCreate Staff. All ages welcome. Walk-ins also welcome, first-come, first-served.

Holiday Dog Parade

Dogs who’ve made Santa’s nice list are welcomed to parade down Main Street in Breckenridge’s Holiday Dog Parade!

Location: Main Street Breckenridge

Registration: 3:00pm – 3:30pm at Main Street Station | Parade Start Time: 3:45pm

Cost: Free

3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. — Parade Registration
Gather
in Main Street Station with the dogs before the Holiday Dog Parade.  Costumes for two and four-legged participants are always encouraged!  Anyone is welcome to join with their pet, as long as all dogs are in the holiday spirit and friendly with others. No Scrooges, please.

3:45 p.m. — Holiday Dog Parade
The Holiday Dog Parade will march down Main Street from Main St. Station to the Blue River Plaza.

4:30 p.m.  — Dog Viewing Party of The Lighting of Breckenridge
Everyone from the parade will gather near the bottom of Washington Avenue in a special sectioned-off area to watch the Race of the Santas come down Main Street and gather together in the Blue River Plaza for more fun. Everyone is welcome to stay until the lighting of the town tree at 5:00 pm.

Reindeer Run

All kids 12 and under are welcome to participate in this year’s Reindeer Run! All kids participating in the race must register and will receive free reindeer antlers before they run down Main Street to the cheers of hundreds of people. Ages 12 and under.

Day of Registration & Bib/Antler Pick-up: Dec. 7 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub | Race Start Time: 4:20 pm.

Cost: $10 (includes race entry and antlers) – All proceeds benefit the Timberline Learning Center.

Race of the Santas

There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than joining hundreds of Santas in a 0.75 mile race through Breckenridge.  If you are the type of Santa that is more fit than Jolly, head to the front of the race. Top finishers will be awarded Ullr helmets and prize packages. Not a runner? Walk, jog or skip through the 6-block course. This race is for anyone who’s ready to get in the holiday spirit! Ages 13 and up.

Bib Pick-up: Dec 7 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub | Race Start Time: 4:30 p.m.

Race Entry Cost: $15 – All proceeds benefit Timberline Learning Center.

Santa Suits: Beginning November 1, we will have Santa Suits for sale at the Breckenridge Welcome Center (203 South Main Street). You’re welcome to come in your own Santa Suit from past years or make a costume. All Santas are welcome!

Lighting of Breckenridge

Santa makes an early visit to Breckenridge to light the Town Tree. Don’t miss the moment when Breckenridge turns on the lights and turns up the holiday spirit as Santa flips the switch in the Blue River Plaza just outside the Breckenridge Welcome Center at 203 S Main Street.

Meet Santa

Visit with Santa and let the little ones share their Holiday wishes with Santa and take a photo in the beautifully decorated Barney Ford House!

Location: Barney Ford Museum, 111 E. Washington Ave.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

FREE Concert: Hazel Miller

Always led by Hazel and her powerful voice, this audience favorite has appeared in countless festivals, concerts and fundraisers to the delight of her loyal fans. Hazel is always backed by some of the finest musicians and vocalists in the world.  The band performs original, Jazz, Blues, R&B and Top 40 music.

Time: Doors open at 6:00pm

Breckenridge Ullr Fest

Ullr Fest will celebrate 57 years this December 11-15, 2019, and the Town of Breckenridge invites snow lovers of all ages to join the party. During Ullr Fest in Breckenridge, don’t be surprised to see horned Viking hats adorning the heads of skiers and snowboarders, the biggest bonfire in town, and more than 12,000 Ullr enthusiasts filling the streets for the Ullr Parade with crazy float participants skiing off jumps on Main Street or gliding along town in a hot tub. Join us to rejoice with Ullr himself… he’s ready for a good party.

International Snow Sculpture Championships- PINE RIDGE CONDOMINIUMS TO ONCE AGAIN HOST SNOW SCULPTING TEAM!

During the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships, 16 teams from around the world descend on Breckenridge, Colorado to hand-carve 20-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Artists are only allowed to use hand tools, creativity and inspiration to bring their ideas to life. No power tools allowed! Teams sculpt countless hours across five days (totaling around 96 hours), resulting in a temporary outdoor art gallery in historic downtown Breckenridge!

Imperial Challenge

The most unique pseudo-triathlon anywhere!  Ride your bike 6 miles from the Breckenridge Rec Center to the base of Peak 7 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort.  Ascend on your choice of gear to either the top of the T-bar or to the top of Peak 8.
